Account & login
Forgot password, how do I reset it?
Click 'Forgot password?' on the login page, enter your account email, then check your inbox (and spam folder). The reset link is valid for 1 hour. You can then set a new password, minimum 12 characters.
Verification email never arrived, what now?
Check your spam and promotions folder first, emails from hookin.id sometimes land there. If still nothing after 5 minutes, log in again and click 'Resend verification' on the yellow banner above the dashboard. Still missing? Email halo@hookin.id so the founder can check manually.
Can I change my account email?
Not self-service yet. Email halo@hookin.id from your old address with subject 'Change email' and the new address, the founder migrates it manually within 1-2 business days.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, click 'Delete account' in the red danger zone. After confirmation, the account is disabled immediately. All data (scripts, carousels, voice, remaining credits) is permanently deleted 30 days later, per UU PDP. During those 30 days you can still request a restore via halo@hookin.id.
Generators
How much can I generate on the free tier?
Free tier: 3 scripts + 3 carousels + 5 content ideas per month. Voice generation uses credits or BYOK (bring your own key) ElevenLabs. Quotas reset on the first day of each calendar month. Check remaining quota at Settings → Usage.
Generated script or carousel looks bad or weird, what now?
Two things to try first: (1) click 'Use sample product' above the input form and run it once to see what ideal output looks like. (2) Check your input, product descriptions that are too short or vague usually produce off-target output. If output is still bad with detailed input, regenerate (free if it failed quality gates). Still broken? Email halo@hookin.id with screenshots of input + output.
Voice generation: use my own key (BYOK) or credits?
Both work. BYOK is free on the hookin side (you pay ElevenLabs directly, about Rp 0.30 per character on the creator tier). Using hookin credits: the rate includes a small markup for operations. The banner above the voice form shows a real-time IDR estimate before you submit. Configure your API key at Settings → Integrations.
Indonesian output doesn't sound natural, is this a bug?
Hookin enforces Bahasa quality gates: hooks max 8 words, consistent pronouns (kamu/aku OR lo/gue, never mixed), no corporate words like 'utilize' or 'leverage'. Output that violates a gate auto-regenerates. If it passes gates but still feels stiff, send a sample to halo@hookin.id so the prompt can be tuned.
Can I regenerate a carousel and get the same result?
Yes. Every carousel has a unique seed stored in history. Open History → click a carousel → 'Regenerate', the output is bytes-identical to the original. To get variations, change the seed or add new bullets in the input form.
Credits & payments
How do I top up credits?
Open Settings → click 'Top up' on the Credits card, pick an amount (Rp 50k / 100k / 250k / 500k), pay via Midtrans Snap. Available methods: BCA VA, GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, QRIS, credit/debit card.
How long until credits arrive after payment?
E-wallet (GoPay/OVO/ShopeePay) and QRIS: 15-60 seconds, usually instant. Credit/debit card: 1-2 minutes. Bank VA (BCA/Mandiri/BNI/BRI): up to 5-10 minutes due to bank confirmation. If credits still haven't arrived after 10 minutes, open /credits/finish or email halo@hookin.id with the order ID.
Can I refund unused credits?
Yes, but only for credits you haven't spent. Email halo@hookin.id with subject 'Refund', include your account email and order ID, the founder processes refunds within 3-5 business days via the original payment method (or bank transfer if the original was e-wallet).
Do credits expire?
No. Credits don't expire while your account is active (log in at least once every 12 months). If the account is inactive for 12+ months, we send a reminder email before deactivating.
Do I get an invoice or receipt?
Yes, automatically. Every successful top up sends a receipt email from halo@hookin.id to your account address with amount, payment method, and date. Need a formal invoice with a company name or NPWP? Email halo@hookin.id with the entity details.
Privacy & data
Where is my data stored?
Servers in Indonesia (Contabo VPS, Jakarta region). Postgres database encrypted at rest. Daily backups with 7-day retention. Full data processing details on the /privasi page.
Can I request a data export?
Yes. Email halo@hookin.id with subject '[DATA REQUEST]', we send a ZIP containing all your data (account, scripts, carousels, voice, history) in JSON format plus media, within 7 business days. Per the data subject access right in UU PDP 27/2022.
Does hookin use my data to train AI?
No. Generators use Claude (Anthropic) with the 'do not train' setting on every API call, and ElevenLabs with the same flag. Your input and output are stored only in your account, never sent to anyone for model training. Details in /privasi under 'Third parties'.
Is my ElevenLabs API key safe stored at hookin?
Yes. Your key is encrypted with AES-256 envelope encryption before being stored in the database, and decrypted only momentarily for the actual API call. The key never leaves hookin's server, is never logged, and is never shown again after you save it. You can delete it anytime at Settings → Integrations.
Technical issues
Page is slow, errors, or blank, how to fix?
Three steps: (1) refresh the page (Ctrl/Cmd + R). (2) Check /status to see whether an upstream (Anthropic/ElevenLabs/Midtrans) is degraded. (3) Still broken? Email halo@hookin.id with a screenshot of the error, the browser (Chrome/Safari/Firefox + version), and what you were doing when it happened.
Can I use it on mobile?
Yes. Hookin is responsive on iOS and Android browsers (Safari, Chrome). No native app yet. Generators and history work smoothly on mobile; carousel PNG and voice MP3 download directly to your gallery or Files.
Where is the dark mode toggle?
Open Settings → Appearance → pick Theme: Light / Dark / Follow system. Default follows your OS preference. The choice is saved per browser in localStorage, so it stays consistent across tabs.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari versions from the last 2 years. Brave and Vivaldi work too (Chromium-based). Internet Explorer and very old browsers are not supported. If your browser strictly blocks third-party cookies, login may break; disable the block for hookin.id.
